Odd One Out Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Odd One Out

Rating: 5.0

Grass fields all around
Where rose bushes surround
Where ruby of poppy blooms
And carpets of foxglove abound

Where night jasmine showers
Layering the emerald of grass
The pond in the middle
Floating lotus
and water reflecting the stars

In a corner of this plan
Is a patch of barren land
No grass tree or flowers grow
Just a sandbox,
behind some bushes stands

So lonely and so shy
Still it Knows not why
Been there all this while
For it belonged to
Deserts dry

Only cactus and date palms
Find their home
In its warm arms
No tropical fruits or trees
Understand it's miseries
