Never Turning Back Poem by LeeAnn R. Jones

Never Turning Back

Starry nights
Moonlit beams
Chirping crickets
And running streams

Broken hearts
And flowing tears
Flushed cheeks
And reddened ears

She can see nothing
All she does is cry
She runs away
From all his lies

Looking back
Is what she fears
She believed his lies
All these years

Not knowing where to turn
Or who to trust
All she’s worried about
Is leaving him in the dust

Never ever
Will she find a love like that
All she’s knows
Is that she’s never turning back
