My Love Poem by Dorsey Baker

My Love

Baby you're my
coffee creamer creamy
the salt and pepper
that flavors my eggs
the nourishment
that leaps from my plate to my
mouth
my early morning breakfast
my late lunch
Baby you're my afternoon snack
my set of keys
just within reach
the bright beautiful
colors in my painting
the crack in my voice
the tremble in my hand
the strength
in my body
Baby you share with me
mortality
and eternity
and also love
