Maturity Poem by RAJESH.C BOSE

Maturity

Can one be mature
If he gets Old?
That's my first question.

Can one be a real Guru?
If he instills ambition among students?
That's my second question.

Because merely getting old
Or merely the grey hair
Is surely not a symbol of maturity.

When I sat in the class for the first time
I was asked to tell my ambition
And it robbed all my delight and innocence
And I became a neurotic and anti social.

Now you tell me
Can these people be respected
Because of their old age and grey hair?

Beautiful poem with a wonderful question. There are many times, youngsters too are matured. Very true said, old people are matured and treated with respect, because they have more experiences than us. But todays youngsters, i am surprised the way they talk, may be because of lot of exposure they get. Media influences them a lot...Some times their life too teaches them a lot. Thoughtful write. Loved reading it.
