Louise Gluck's Protagonist Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Louise Gluck's Protagonist

The protagonist of hers whispering
Into the memory lanes of reminiscence and reflection,
Moving into the corridors of thought and idea,
Sometimes on the terraces,
Doing the self talk at midnight
Holding parleys with the soul of man
And the wind swaying by,
Rehearsing the drama of life
Into the theatre of silence.

A poetess of memories and reflections,
She intermixes thought and idea,
Derives from the residues of meaning,
Sleepwalking, daydreaming, soliloquies
And monologues and hinges towards
Poetic justice to be made to,
Talking with the self, confiding,
Holding parleys with
With the whispers going on.
