Lori's Triumph Spitfire Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Lori's Triumph Spitfire

Rating: 5.0

The production of the Triumph Spitfire fell on hard times,
A victim of short-sighted management led to its fate,
Compounded with safety and emission regulations,
And an unfavorable dollar/pound exchange rate.

Lori's Triumph Spitfire is still around - many are not.
After many years in the garage it has spent,
It has suffered neglect from the lack of driving,
But does not contain rust or a serious dent.

The Triumph Spitfire is a veteran of many an encounter,
Its sleek styling is appealing and is still an instant hit,
A classic example of the survival of the fittest,
Larger, lower, wider, faster is part of the script.

The body lines express harmony of design,
Strict in fuel consumption - generous on power,
A sporty convertible that is easy to shift and drive
And Lori at the steering wheel always made her prouder.

The Triumph Spitfire is a British Racing Green
With a tan interior and a proper wooden dash.
It had good traction, stability, and get-away power.
It is an excellent fun car, economical and fast.

Lori's Triumph Spitfire is in line for a restoration,
Not changing for the better - hopefully for the best.
Earmarked as a classic car to an antique status
Wondering if the Triumph Spitfire will pass the final test.

Nice poem. Nice car (although I was always partial towards the TR-6) . Cheers.
