Lone Soul Poem by domanick schulte

Lone Soul

Rating: 5.0

I am a lone soul,
am I made out of coal,
I had a body,
now I am a no body,
I can never see my future,
if I do it a fuzzy view,
we all can be a lone soul,
but lone soul can see another lone soul,
so no matter what you feel,
someone else can feel it too,
you don't know somebody,
until you know what,
is troubling them,
and if you help them,
then they can call you a friend,
if you don't help them,
then the can call you acquaintance,
that means that people call each other friends
we are all a lone soul,
we are all one,
and we need each other to live,

Domanick, most good poems work by using vivid images, words that appeal to the senses. THis poem is mostly made of abstract words (feel, future, view) and is just telling, not showing. Maybe stop writing for a while and read lots of good contemporary poetry (billy Collins, Mary Oliver) if ou want to improve. if you have time, check out my new website: jeffersoncarterverse.com Tell me how you like it. Thanks! Yrs, JC
