Let Me Dream A Dream Of You Poem by mihaela rusu

Let Me Dream A Dream Of You

Rating: 5.0

let me dream a dream of you,
red lips, blue eyes and grass
that grows between my fingers softly...
you, out of time,
me, still but mad,
starring at the leftovers of my garden...

let me dream a dream of you
to forget about the germs of
loneliness that keep coming back to me...

let your red lips kiss me deep
in a romantic song from 1940
about a woman whose child
died of an unknown disease...
her sadness turned into a dream,
the dream became her death...

the child never came back...

let me dream a dream of you,
not for the hope but for the truth
that still fulfills
in spite of all the pain
that comes with it...

dreams don't save souls.
mine was the garden.
the grass grows through
the leftovers of my body,
the leftovers of my dream of you...
