Just Then (Storm) Poem by Nkosilathi Zinyane

Just Then (Storm)

Rating: 4.0

Just then (Storm)

See the sediments and the rubble
The evidence of a struggle
See the misty distance
Glaringly white in appearance
See the new dark cloud
Forming without sound

See those limbs or ribs
Just beside those reeds
See the mountains and the hills
Severed and torn they give chills
See the broken stereo and home
A home bitter home

See the stones and boulders
Distorting domestic borders
See the roses without their petals
The birds without their feathers
See the smouldering and dying embers
Made as again the storm gathers
