Inspiration Of Infancy Poem by Chris Jax

Inspiration Of Infancy

Rating: 5.0

A tiny chest breathes baby breaths...a mini miracle and nothing less.

Total trust and absolute affection...eyes filled with amazement and adoration.

Sent from God with goodness and grace...heaven can be seen here, in her angelic face.

Each giggle and grin erasing stress within... the power of an infant, stronger than sadness or sin.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was inspired to write about the powerfully positive and positively powerful effect that the simple presence of a new baby can have on those nearby.

I had been recently invited to have dinner w/ a friend and his wife. It also happened to be the first time I got to see their new daughter since her birth.

The adults exchanged small talk over dinner, including the commonplace swapping of stories about current events and sharing trite complaints about work or finances or mankind in general.

THEN, we gathered in the living room to admire and play with the baby. After 2 hours, I realized there had been permanent smiles and seemingly perpetual laughter among everyone there. No hackneyed grumbling about the trivial hardships of life. That had immediately vanished as soon as we became occupied with admiring the child.

As soon as I returned home that night, I felt compelled to jot down the feelings that remained as I reflected on what I consider to be a natural phenomenon that can sometimes be overlooked or buried in the monotony of the average person's everyday struggle.

Beautiful and true. Wonderfully crafted: Each giggle and grin erasing stress within... the power of an infant, stronger than sadness or sin.
