Ill Wind And Me Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Ill Wind And Me

Rating: 4.8

Sometimes ill wind blows my way, it seems
To cast opaque shadows o'er all my dreams
Sending my spirits downward soaring
Causes my life to lose its fragile mooring
I am wondering when this dismal mood lifts
Again, so I may feel the joys of life's finer gifts.
I am not alone, I know, here in the depths
My soul despite its dreary drift is not bereft
Of hope that I shall rise and soar
And know the ecstasy of living once more.

I esp. enjoyed these words: " ...........here in the depths My soul despite its dreary drift is not bereft Of hope that I shall rise and soar And know the ecstasy of living once more." good luck! Lift your spirits with Kentucky moonshine. A jug or two and you'll soon be fine....or dead! to MyPoemList bri :)

A well expressed, meaningful poem, with a pleasing rhyme. Wonderfully well done.

I have had to contend with many ill winds blowing in my life. Eventually, though not always, the wind dies down. The pairs of rhymes fit the poem's theme well.
