If I Can Poem by Noel Tupan

If I Can

Rating: 5.0

If I can fly,
I will take you to the highest peak
So you would see what's on the ground
For I know you heard the whimpers
But you never seek where it's coming from

If I can slip back,
I will take you to a place in the past
Where people live in harmony
For I know that peace is what you seek
But never tried to put it into effect

If I can walk on the water,
I will carry you on my shoulder
We'll watch the dwindling species of fish
For I know that you want it to flourish
But your commerce could be in menace

If I can time travel,
I will take you with me to the future
To build a cleaner and greener environment
For I know that you loved nature
But you only watch it being ruined

If I can... only if I can
But all is just a whisper, or
Perhaps a song of a dreamer
For like you I'm a hopeless crusader
A fantasist with so much fear

Beautiful train of thoughts, well articulated and subtly penned to capture the conviction of the poet. A lovely piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
