I Came To You Poem by Gencay

I Came To You

To know the essence of poetry in your heart,
I have come to you, O master of my heart, your only lover, by crossing the streets with tears dripping from their roofs, leaving behind the trees that never bloom...

How many times have I come to you to lose my growing insomnia with a sleep without holes in your chest, to forget my self, which is burned in nothingness, in the smile on your cheeks, to hug you, O life, my life.

In order to kill the death in me, to be immortal and always happy in your hair, to survive the age of the age I am stuck in, to get rid of the chaos and the ordeal, I have come to you, O life, canan!

Oceans, skies, mountains, plains,
Infinities, universes, nothingness,
I came to you, blind to everything but your eyes, in order to forget all of them and see deeper, more meaningful than all of them.

Accept it or fire me, I came not with my feet, not with my love, not with my body, but with my soul. This world is a place of fire, I am burned to the ground, I have come to you to be reborn, O lilac lilac light of my heart!

Always keep me on your shelf, at the head end of your bed, at home, at home, in your heart, remember me. The more you read it, the better you'll understand where I came from, how I came to you. I have come to you, O soul! Behind death, under the ground, through the books!
