Howl Poem by Lucienne Kim Flavell

Howl

Rating: 4.7

I want you to feel
the insufferable loss of me.
I want you to feel as though
you're unable to function
without me.
I want your body
to quake and quiver
with the fantasy of me.
I want you to sweat
and howl; to run
in wind and hail,
through bracken, branches
and stinging nettles
and find me
in a queue at Tesco's
and tell me
those awesome words.

Hi Lucienne, This is a powerful write, filled with much emiotion. Your lover takes you for granted it seems, and in order to redeem himself, he must endure your commands... And if he's smart, he will do your bidding... He will memorize your every word, and when his quest is completed... and he takes your face in his hands, gazes into your eyes... and says those three little words... You will melt into his arms. (ah, I'm such a hopeless romantic!) Great Write Lucienne... expecting more...; -) -Kelly.

lucienne, i believe i read this poem before and don't know why i didn't comment on it then. i REALLY like it. for some reason i laughed (out loud) at the finish. i think it was the image of someone (the commenter before me assumes a man i guess) with a quivering body grovelling at your feet in hopes you will be kind to him/her/it? . i guess if you had a talking dog or wolf, that would fill the bill quite nicely. i came back to your site to tell you i took your suggestion and wrote another, longer, poem which i hope will suffice for now. you requested another scary poem after reading my 'halloween approaches' one. i submitted it this evening. enjoy. bri ps..if you look at my complete list of poems you will see that i now have added word(s) describing the subject of a poem in front of/as part of the poem title. oh yes. the new title, listed as Scary etc. is 6 Foot 3.
