Flypaper And A Wall Poem by Dorsey Baker

Flypaper And A Wall

hopping along
like a rabbit on the run
you see her
insecurity
her face masked
in paint to hide
her fear
bottled up pain
exploding in silence
a deep well of emotion
she keep hidden
her fingers move nervously
her lips like fish
swimming in a milky sea
and she's breathing
much too heavily
living a lie
is hard on the heart
but telling the truth
wouldn't be exactly
like a maid cleaning a house
