When in depths
Of despair
I am blind
To the light
And reach out
To The Light
When in depths
Of despair
I am deaf
To the sound
And scream out
To The Sound
When in depths
of despair
I feel
Without touch
To not much
And lose such
When in depths
Of despair
I taste love
Yet just hate
To forget
All regret
When in depths
Of despair
I now sense
All The Light
All The Sound
All The Love...One With God
This is an amazing verse, Richard. I can really sense how this is part of the Kerouac series. I reread it several times. After the second reading, there was something in your words that reminded me of Kerouac's spin the the (radical?) right. How much of his conservatism was spawned by a deep despair? Very thought provoking, excellent verse.
Right on target, M.J.! He was a man full of despair. One who really feared for his soul. On the one hand, he lived a hedonistic lifestyle. On the other hand, he was deeply religious.
I can feel the feeling through this poem, and dear of course when no one really understand or just feel it and forget, God will always company you with love and hope. :)
Soul, as per my message to Kumarmani, I must be on the right track. Thank you so much for your confirmation.
To reaching up the light is interesting. Connecting to God with depth of trust through light and meditation is our main purpose. This poem is very beautiful and interestingly penned...10
Kumarmani, this poem is part of the Kerouac Project which consists of my tapping into Kerouac's spirituality. Judging by your very positive response, I must be doing very well. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement.
