Coal And Booze. Poem by Peter Vealey

Coal And Booze.

Rating: 5.0

All his money,
Goes on
Coal and Booze.
Coal and Booze.
Staying in
Night and Day.
Too old to move
Or change the landscapes.
Of his furrowed mind.
Coal and Booze.
All he wants to choose.
Shut the curtains,
On the outside world
In the afternoons,
Sleep the booze n` depression,
All too briefly away.
Coal and Booze,
Choosing oblivion (not life!)

A sad but poignant write. Even those most of us view life through narrow windows, still we find ways to close the shutters blocking out all light.

Yes, some people are like that. An astute observation on people's behavior.

Snooze and lose his booze. Nah. He needs more booze.
