Civilisation Poem by shakil ahmed

Civilisation

CIVILIZATION

Oh, people of this globe
We are proud enough
That human civilization
Has reached its zenith point.
Moon and Mars are not distant place
We have atom bombs
Which we tested in Nagasaki and Hiroshima
We have supersonic air craft's and many more
Children of Gaga bear its testimony
We have enough arms
To make the world a burial ground
We cannot escape
From the fists of hostility
Hatred is the order of the day
Religious functions are
Death-beds of innocent people
How long shall we continue
All these…………………..

Let a time come
When we will be
No more enemies
When people will not go
To his bed in aching stomach
When we shall allow our guns
To be rusted eternally
When our youth will not wear
Blood stained cloth

Oh, the people of this drifting planet
Please, allow us to live in harmony
Please, make a room for peace
Let our children breath pure air
No need to wait for heaven
In a remote and distant world
Let's make the world a heaven.

Thank you for your comments about my poems. I've read, so far, only 4 or 5 of your poems and, it seems, you are a good soul who focuses on love and loneliness a great deal. You have an excellent sense of language usage and some of your rhyming patterns are very clever. Thanks for sharing thoughts.
