Black Power Poem by Black Consciousness Poetry BCP

Black Power

Shouting
Black Power on top of our lungs, our fists lifted up,Black Power we say.Black Power we have not yet, buying power we have but do not use. Black Power we desire but brain Power we do not build.

Digging mines in the black belly of the earth, others in corporates and government plantations earning buying power, which we freely give to our oppressor and by so doing strengthening his hand and giving her more power to press us down while laughing at our screams of Black Power.
Black Power we shout after giving to white power our buying power. Black Power we shout after we have given our power to the Asians, the Arabs and whoever else except to ourpowerless Blacks. We consume our power through products, we did not produce no wonder we are so powerless.
Shout all you want, raise your fist as high as you could, but until we harness our buying power to increase Black power, to build our brain power through conscious education in our schools and curriculums we created, if not all we will achieve is the loss of voice.
Shout all you want, raise your fist as high as you can but until we harness our buying power to increase black power, to produce the food we consume and get drunk from the wine we own and get high from the ganja we grow, we will be fed GMO's and later deal with the consequences of diseases, sickness and without Black power then we will send more of our buying power to pharmaceuticals, we don't own.
Need I go on...ooh dammit shout all you want, raise your fist as high as you will and when you done get into the car that you only assemble, not manufacture because you are not harnessingyour buying power to give character, strength, power, personality to Black Power.

Give expression to Black Power begin the painful journey, required to get back to power.
