Black Feather Poem by Paul Brookes

Black Feather

Does the white raven exist?
is shethe essence of poetry
cawing at the centre.
bright light of inspiration.

black raven, he of ill omen,
looks askance, well he says
do you exist?

appearing she pins him beady eyed,
oh yes she says,
without me black bird, you cannot exist.

the dark needs the light
without it there is no gradient, she exclaims,
for all men are shades of grey

then cackling she flies away.
