Birth Of An Oak Tree Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

Birth Of An Oak Tree

Rating: 5.0

A lad walking along the side of a road
Dropped an acorn so casual and free,
And it took root and sprouted up
And grew into a mighty oak tree.

Couples in love sought its refuge,
A place to cast their early vows,
And a traveler was pleased on a hot day
To rest and bask beneath its boughs.

The squirrels loved its sturdy limbs,
The song birds sweet music galore.
For years the tree stood firmly in this place,
A blessing of nature evermore.

It was just a little acorn at first,
Embedded in the earth isolated and free.
It matured slowly and weathered all storms,
And became an attraction as a mighty oak tree.
