As Is I Poem by Ruma Chaudhuri

As Is I

Rating: 5.0

Tomorrow's morning coming on
You may see me in a new form.

Perhaps as a bird that looks black
Or, as a street dog, or, as a buck.

On that morning my good friend,
Will you be able to find me again?

Or, I will be the silence in the black night,
Or, the gentle breeze that comes with
the first morning light.

I can't be the storm, or the blizzard
that brings change.. or brings your tears.

I will be like me, as is I.
A faded star, in the morning sky.

Ruma, no doubt it is a very good poem but why not you think and write about life. Leave such topics for the old men like me. But the fact remains, Hain Sab se madhur woh geet jinhen hum dard ke sur mein gate hain. Another life after this life, in one way or another, every one should believe it. I am happy that you believe in it.
