Ancestral Place Poem by Lopamudra Mishra

Ancestral Place

Stepped cautiously inside to my ancestral place,
rolling years carried me in its mad race.
Expecting to be greeted with warm embrace,
lost my heart by its falling grace.
Relatives greeted me with laughing brace,
but my eyes searches for the lost darling in this conference.
The flakes of withered walls weaves a thousand tales,
people living here forget their frails,
each one busy to tell their boastful goal,
faded photographs and pale window panes cries the whole.
The house once filled with fragrance of flowers and chanting hymns,
changed its colour with modern bliss.
My lips shivered towards this glossy abyss,
unfathomed, I am hunted by my memorable past where i laid my foundation of my golden hatch!
Miss my protective cover of elder ones...
