All I have...
are the memories of you
the sketches of your smiles
the carvings of your thoughts
and the poetry of your words
of your pedantic and cynicism
all I have now
are the days and the nights
of all our adventures
The times in Montreal, the times in Florida
Niagara Falls in the summer of 14
thanksgiving and Christmases
when your mouth was sweet an mean
reduced to videos and pictures
that are fossilized records
of the life that we knew
that's all I have of you
and yet I would trade all those memories
burn every picture
erase every video
just for a year or a week, or a day
for you to be hear again.
to sing the bitterness of your youth
the rage of your sex
and the politics of your passion
hear twisted tumor of your humor
as you kill with your sarcasm
and make every man a child
Always proving yourself right
with out a crumb for being wrong
I would kill these memories
squeeze my skull of nostalgic pulp
just for the single breath
and the physical shape of your existence
...but all I have are pictures
and All have are memories....
and they are nothing
because I don't have you
Memories outline the smile with positive perception. We always love memories and pictures. This poem is excellently penned.
Beautifully written, heartfelt and lovingly penned. My deepest sympathy to the whole family.
When you lost someone dear, every line in this poem is deeply felt. It resonates with me. It brings back memories that will fill the gap between us and the lost loved one even for just a moment.
A deeply moving and poignant poem.It brought tears into my eyes knowing that she died early.
