A Nostalgic Moment Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

A Nostalgic Moment

Rating: 5.0

Once - it was a hot and humid summer,
Then autumn - gradually it was gone.
We all had a variety of experiences,
And a multitude of dreams to rely upon.

Then winter overshadowed the landscape,
The blustery winds turning faces a reddish hue,
And snow had covered all the land,
A jewel - like appearance all the way through.

Early winter darkness prevailed,
Arousing the pleasantry of the heart.
The warmth and coziness of the hearth,
A night of thankfulness it would impart.

A nostalgic moment - the soul beckoning
The old, quaint times of yesteryear,
And, oh how haunting is the night
Thinking of the years we held so dear.
