A Judgmental Society Poem by Savino Terrazas

A Judgmental Society

Rating: 5.0

Society is often quick to assume the worst
A sketchy image, troubled past
They know not how this person hurts
His soul's in pieces, shattered glass
He's left with no direction, absent of emotion
A paranoid's perception, a mental commotion

Lives life with no ambition, Opinions held in silence
A constant clouded mind
With still no sign of guidance
Yet still in this condition, his heart remains so kind
A broken man who knows no love, survival skills learned in the rough
A wicked life this soul's embarked
An uncertain path, a traumatic past
But it seems as if this journey's parked
In this barren wasteland, a place so vast

The people choose their own surmise
Ignorance granted through a posthaste presumption
With no veracity, just discoursed lies
Judgmental inclinations for their lackey's consumption
If only they perceived this man's oppression
His essence burdened with deep depression

This soul will stay crippled until it departs
Ending each day while another one starts

A nice poem written with insight. We live in a society where conformity is the order of the day. Within this adherence to norms lies hypocrisy, unfair criticism, ... Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
