A Doll's Dream Poem by Helen Mueller

A Doll's Dream

In a place chosen just for me, I wait,
Silently, patiently, for someone to touch
My silken tresses, to admire my pretty dress
Trimmed with lace and fancy buttons,
But most of all, oh, most of all, please,
To notice my beautiful face.
For Paul Sweet and clear is a beautiful voice
As it soars through the air in song,
Touching the hearts of all who hear it
With words of love, peace, and joy.
How bittersweet is the moment
When the song must come to an end,
But how pleasured must be the angels
Now it echoes through the heavens forever.
