As five years age did I complete,
To a school, my father made me admit,
But hard task was it all,
Recognizing alpha-numeric symbol.

Behold! fluttering the tiny wings
Around the bushes and shrubs,
The winged creature roaming merrily,
Don't follow my child, catch not.

I wandered here and there,
And ran from post to pillar,
Days after days passed by,
But no sign of getting a way.

On the water surface, it floats,
The beautiful flower called Lotus,
It shakes its head with the breeze,
See! And enjoy its heavenly beauties.
...

As soon as the dusk vanished away,
The moon peeped from opposite sky.
The slow steps started moving fast,
To cross the woods that ghosts haunt.

Take the road
That leads to the remote village,
Reach the home
That shelters a blooming future,

Another day ends as the setting sun
Returns back in western horizon,
Darker and deserted the work place looks,
Silent and fearful the sorrouding becomes.

Since last night it is raining,
Everywhere there is water logging,
Cool and pleasant is the surrounding,
Time for children for merry making.

A fine June evening it was,
Physically strained and tired,
As I was relaxing on a couch,
To bed room, earlier I retired.

Seated here Thou, O! Mother of thousands learners,
In the heart of this old religious capital city,
Thy Greatness has been spread beyond the region,
Never tired was Thou in caring thy children.

Mid-night of August was so dark,
When I was dropped by a stork.
I was picked up by my parents-
KInd enough to nurse an infant.

My First Day In School

As five years age did I complete,
To a school, my father made me admit,
But hard task was it all,
Recognizing alpha-numeric symbol.

Fearful was the very sight of teacher,
More so was the sight of Head Master,
Classroom was full of strange faces,
Was I a sheep in a pack of wolves?

I tried to copy from boy beside,
That was too difficult to practice,
All efforts to draw the symbol
Did go in vain, miserably I did fail.

The teacher asked me if I can write,
Nothing did I reply, remained quiet,
To play truant was my intention,
Out of the class, towards home I ran.
