Darlene Walsh Poems

What is that you're seeing
in the corner of your eye
Stealthful foot steps following
never passing by
...

In purity, from my heart and soul I quest
After long thoughts, to myself confess
From deep in my being, love shall I assess
With my whole self to him shall I express
...

I was a full day dead and quite content
My last word and testament has been sent
I lay in my coffin as they passed me by
They walked past in silence, never asking Why?
...

My heart is filled with winter
And love can never again enter
Forever more I shall be a lamenter
Only pain has been left as my center
...

I work in silence
I work with great noise
I cause many tears
I relieve all suffering
...

Why was I caught in your light
My dim candle had become so bright
And only you could fill my sight
Giving all to you was so right
...

7.

Sun shines, fire glows
Death rains, arrows of fire in modern bows

Missiles and rockets, bombs dropped from on high
...

I walked into the room and he was standing there
Through the void between us I could feel his stare
The shine of his eyes held a piercing gaze
My thoughts hazed as fear flew around in a maze
...

If you Love the Craft of writing
If stories keep your life exciting
If mystery and horror are your tales
With shivering spines and biting nails
...

I parked the car between two white lines and looked out over the grassy field
For Memorial Day in memory of the brave heros we planted eleven flags

Barely a hundred stones, some flat markers, some tall monuments
...

When dusk has settled on Halloween night
Look to the sky for a frightful sight
Look carefully high in the sky
Will you see witches flying by
...

Seeping, sneaking, unknown doom
Waiting in silence to go boom
A monster looking to sneak inside
Seeking in darkness a place to hide
...

The day is done and it's time to sleep
With crowds of no one in my lonely room.
In my room while the silence grows deep,
Was there sun today or just rays of gloom.
...

I see a bug, is it a bee
Darla has said no bee for me
It is a bug, a bug for Blue
But I was taught to listen to you
...

Modern technology is great when it works
If you can handle all the buggy quirks
Patience is key when dealing with the conveniences
When pushing all the right buttons takes geniuses
...

16.

Seen under starlight
by dim moon light
he is a precious sight
...

In loneliness all my life I was standing apart
until I met you and life had a start
your presence is magic that will never depart
Should I call you a thief for stealing my heart
...

There are no roads, no where to go
i sit in silence, mind set on slow

No reason to move, there's nothing to do
...

She was dressed to the nines,
And looking so fine.
Searching each night
For the perfect sight.
...

The night was dark, house dreary true
I opened the gate and crept through
Shadows of specters fill my sight
In fear of monsters that may bite
...

Darlene Walsh Biography

I recently graduated from college and I am a very happy young newlywed. While life is most excellent now, my youth was very troubled. I love to read and write, and hope someday to be an author. I very much enjoy poetry, but my real interests are in fantasy. I love reading and watching fantasy and sci/fi, especially while cuddling up with my husband. I currently work in landscaping with my husband. He is mostly in tree removal, while I mostly cut grass. We also dabble in real estate.)

The Best Poem Of Darlene Walsh

The Monster Beneath The Bed

What is that you're seeing
in the corner of your eye
Stealthful foot steps following
never passing by

In the corner of the mirror
watching when you blink
It is patient and silent
and deadlier than you think

It's biding time for years
until the time is ripe
Until you've grown enough
and are just the right type

When you have grown enough
to be a tasty morsel
From beneath the bed it comes
through a secret portal

In silence it is waiting
needing to be fed
Out in darkness slithering
from beneath your bed

In your sleep it comes
needing to be fed
Nibbling a tasty morsel
until you are dead

All i ca say you are an encouragious person, Encouraging others is an important part of being part of a family, a group of people and a community. Everyone is doing their best in this world and sometimes, a kindly word of encouragement can help others realize that they're not alone. Moreover, encouragement is a way of recognizing the good others do, and seeking more of it. Applauding success acknowledges that people matter and that their efforts mean much to you, whether the person is known to you, or even a stranger. Take some time out today to encourage someone who crosses your path. thanks you the wonderful young poet

Darlene is inactive on PH now, since her husband was killed*** nearly a year ago in an accident, leaving her with three little kids and a business to take care of. She wrote recently [after i inquired] that, with a lot of help from her late husband's parents, she is managing to care for herself, her kids, and her business. good luck 'Darla'. i liked your year-old 'Halloween' poem. bri :) Below i have pasted the poem she wrote following her husband's death. it has some typos, but i was NOT her editor for it. other than some typos from time to time, her writing is quite good, sometimes exceptional. ================================================ *** Winter's Heart - Poem by Darlene Walsh My heart is filled with winter And love can never again enter Forever more I shall be a lamenter Only pain has been left as my center I dared to believe that dreams come true The moments it lasted were just a few It was gone in a instant like sun on the dew For just the briefest of time we were two The evening sky was obsidian blackness Decembers's cold was showing its hardness I thought my love was safer than any fortress Life has again shown itself to be heartless A knock at the door and life came to an end At first I thought, 'It must be a friend.' At the sight of the badge, my heart did rend Into darkness I did quickly desend The words they spued I just couldn't bear How long did I just stand there and stare Till the words sank in and became a nightmare I think I collapsed but I was no longer aware My dream ended that obsidian night All that was joy became grim blight It was the end of all delight Life me hit again with spite I thought life had begun Now all was done Nowhere to run I was undone Nightmare Unfair Fear Tear Darlene Walsh Topic(s) of this poem: death Poems by Darlene Walsh: 64 / 65 « prev. poem next poem » Poet's Notes about The Poem Poem about the moment the police came to my door, and informed me my husband died in a car accident. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - i hope Darlene continues to survive the death of her husband, and maybe even returns to action on PH someday. she is super busy now with 'life'. bri :)
