Cyrena Labuda Poems

Living in a wishing well,
Wading through my chronic hell.
I float from here,
I float to there...
...

She sits in her tower of drywall,
No will to come down; she fears the fall.
Looking out a window stained of dirt,
She dies from a swelling hurt,
...

Flooded streets with carnival fare,
Music swims throughout the aire.
Smells of sweet and salty wisp by,
Smiles and laughs drown my heart's cry.

A Healing Nature

Living in a wishing well,
Wading through my chronic hell.
I float from here,
I float to there...
Yet my heart resides nowhere.
A little cove,
A little yacht...
Swimming in the parking lot.
A quietness lays all around,
It follows the stillness all underground.
The chirping and the whistling legs,
A mirky green forever plagues.
Zippy wings and fairy things,
Listening to the cricket sing.
I let their music drown out my thought,
Nature can never be bought.
Sticky skin, burning heat,
Earthy smells are my retreat.
As the numbness fills my soul,
Unnatural disasters take their toll.
A fish caught and released,
My actions have displeased.
As I search the crowded sky,
All alone in my heart I cry.
Dragonflies of blue carry me away,
Mezmorize me with your dance,
Entrance me with a new chance.
Nature, embrace me in comfort.
Earth, cover me not, in crumbs of dirt.
Night music sing me to sleep,
As I quietly lay down to weep.
